About the role

Trane Technologies has an exciting opportunity for an on-site Compressor Test Technician II in our new Engineering Test Lab. This Technician plays a pivotal role in validating new products including Lab Facility management and repair, test setups, performance testing, compressor re-builds and modification, and laboratory continuous improvement. By leveraging expertise in troubleshooting commercial HVAC equipment and collaborating across the Engineering department, this Technician helps bring our new products to market.

This is a 1st shift, on-site position (5 days per week) at our Trane Technologies HQ campus in Davidson, NC.

Responsibilities

  • Work safely and maintain a safe work area in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Support product development activities by operating commercial HVAC equipment, controlling test facilities, and collecting and reviewing experimental test data
  • Independently install, modify, and build developmental commercial HVAC equipment and components, following engineering, agency, and test requirements
  • Work with Test Engineering and other Technicians to install and utilize laboratory test equipment including data acquisition systems, power analyzers, flow equipment, pressure, and temperature measurement devices
  • Independently troubleshoot and repair HVAC compressors and compressor test facilities

Requirements

  • Candidates without a degree are encouraged to apply; we prioritize practical experience, relevant skills, and alignment with our leadership principles
  • Associate’s Degree in HVAC (or related technical discipline) and at least 5 years of relevant HVAC or compressor work experience is required; OR at least 7 years of relevant HVAC or compressor experience is required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook) required
  • EPA Type Universal Certification or willingness to become certified

Pay

Annual Base Salary Range: $52,630.00 - $74,340.00 (hourly, non-incentive eligible)
