Compounding Pharmacy Technician (Nights)

About the role

Shift: Back Half Nights (Wednesday-Saturday 9pm-7:30am)

This role plays a pivotal part in delivering safe, high-quality medications to our patients, and promotes impactful pharmaceutical services for our patients.

Responsibilities

  • Clean, calibrate, and maintain non-sterile compounding equipment and designated workspaces.
  • Absorb and manage non-sterile compounding inventory.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment.
  • Participate in site-specific training, ongoing competency assessments, and annual revalidation.
  • Maintain proper documentation, including batch records, ingredient logs, and cleaning logs.
  • Follow USP and requirements and ensure compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Compound non-sterile medications (tablets, solutions, suspensions, gummy formulations, etc.) following prescription orders and site SOPs upon completion of certification.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current registration + active license with the state of OH as a Certified Pharmacy Technician.
  • At least 1 year of pharmacy technician experience; prior experience in hospital or compounding settings preferred.
  • Familiarity with USP and standards and non-sterile compounding processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurements, documentation, and record-keeping.
  • Ability to follow procedures and maintain compliance in a regulated environment.
  • Organized, dependable, and collaborative team player.
  • Commitment to patient safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Active registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician in the State of Ohio.

Conditions of Employment

  • Working with Hazardous Drugs (HD) and wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Medical approval to wear respiratory protection in the form of negative or positive pressure respirators, including N95, full face respirator, SCBA, or Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR).
  • Physical exertion required, including walking, standing, squatting, bending, and lifting up to 80% of the time for up to a twelve-hour shift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Associates must be willing to confirm understanding of potential risks associated with handling hazardous drugs.
