Compounding Pharmacist (Days)

About the role

The Compounding Pharmacist will oversee and grow compounding capabilities, act as a subject matter expert, and ensure quality and patient safety while dispensing medication according to regulations.

Responsibilities

• Accurately document compounding procedures, quality assurance/quality control checks, and dispense compounded preparations
• Train and evaluate compounding personnel
• Review and approve materials for compounding
• Oversee use of equipment and monitor compounding environment
• Work closely with R&D teams on new compounded formulations
• Follow safety guidelines and prepare compounded medications
• Document pharmacist-related activities such as patient consultations and error documentation
• Coordinate with the Pharmacist-in-charge (PIC)

Requirements

• 2+ years of pharmacist experience, at least 1+ in compounding pharmacy or relevant experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
• Active Pharmacist License in Ohio
• Knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws, rules, and regulations
• Proficiency in Windows-based computer systems
• Ability to undergo respirator fit testing
• Ability to work flexible shift times
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods

Qualifications

• Knowledge of USP, BOP, and best compounding practices
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledgeable and empathetic leadership skills
• Capable of working with small, delicate pieces of machinery
• Willingness to complete external training

Skills

• Familiarity with all necessary pharmacy and compounding equipment
• Strong organizational and supervisory skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
