Compounding Director for the Asheville (AVL) Campus
Position Information
The Compounding Director for the Asheville (AVL) Campus will play a critical role in supporting the delivery and ongoing refinement of the redesigned pharmaceutical compounding course. This individual will contribute to course development efforts, including implementation of the updated curriculum informed by stakeholder input. Responsibilities include coordinating and assisting with ordering for the AVL campus, maintaining lab setup and preparation, delivering pre-lab instruction, and managing logistical needs for Instructional Assistants (IAs).
The Director will oversee 2 weekly lab sessions for the Fall 2026 semester, ensure consistency in instructional delivery, and provide assessment of AVL student deliverables. In addition, the Compounding Director will liaise with Chapel Hill course leadership to ensure alignment in course expectations, assessments, and overall student experience. The compounding lab sections on the Asheville campus are on Wednesdays from 3:20pm – 5:20pm and Thursdays from 3:00pm – 5:00pm. Attendance for the AVL Compounding Director at the weekly pre-lab class sessions on Wednesdays from 11:00am – 11:50am is encouraged, when feasible, however, not required.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
A BS in Pharmacy degree is required.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
A Doctor of Pharmacy degree and Pharmacy Practice experience in Compounding are preferred.
