About the role

The Watkins Company is a pioneer in natural flavoring products founded in 1868. They offer a variety of products including Vanilla Extract, Cinnamon, Black Pepper, Extracts, Spices, Dry Seasoning Mixes, Bitters, and Baking Decorations.

Responsibilities

• Aids in the creation of Watkins food products.
• Weighs, measures, grinds, mixes, filters, and blends raw material ingredients in accordance with making bill specifications to compound products.
• Transports, transfers, and stages pre-weighed materials for compounding orders when necessary; Operates material handling equipment and elevators to transfer product, when necessary.
• Maintains compounding process to ensure proper consistency, color, and product characteristics, promptly reports abnormalities requiring attention and/or correction.
• Sets up and adjusts mixers, kettles, and other equipment used in the compounding process.
• Cleans and sanitizes tanks, pumps, filters, hoses, and other equipment before, during, and after the compounding process. Also cleans work area.
• Records control numbers of ingredients on worksheets and material withdrawal on the pick list.
• Ensures accurate measurement of ingredients and strict adherence to procedural and product specifications.

Requirements

• Possess a High School Diploma/GED.
• Previous experience operating electrical and mechanical material handling equipment – preferred.
• Must have satisfactory results from flexibility and strength assessment examination.
• Demonstrate basic proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Skills

• Basic knowledge of mixing and blending processes.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Pay

Rate of Pay: $23.26

Sign On Bonus Available: $1,750

Schedule

1st Shift - Monday - Thursday
6:00am - 4:30pm
