Compounder

About the Role

Responsible for the set-up and operation of processing equipment. The Compounding Operator will operate all equipment within the department, train others on equipment and processes, and ensure compliance with safety, GMP, and food safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety policies and improve safety culture by identifying, reporting, and correcting unsafe conditions.
• Follow GMPs and food safety policies to protect the brand.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Set up, operate, adjust, troubleshoot, diagnose, and maintain all production equipment.
• Clean and sanitize production food contact surfaces and equipment.
• Collect updated batch records for products being produced.
• Verify all ingredients are correct and batch records are followed per formula.
• Document all lots and quantities accurately.
• Follow instructions step-by-step (quantity, mixing times, etc.).
• Ensure all utensils are clean after use.
• Verify inventory accuracy by scanning material when physically moved.
• Effectively run equipment and meet production goals using HR x HR tracking.
• Report downtime and process interrupters.
• Promptly notify Production Lead/Supervisor of safety, quality, or downtime issues.
• Follow and help develop departmental procedures.
• Maintain production logs and complete production and quality checks as required.
• Work in other production departments as needed.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED; one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Language Skills: Ability to read simple words, recognize similarities and differences between words and numbers, and print and speak simple sentences.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions and solve problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Physical Demands: Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, and reach. Frequently required to climb or balance. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, or hear. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Work Environment: Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and risk of electrical shock. Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. Noise level is usually loud.
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must be forklift certified.
