About the Role

The Compounder is responsible for performing and assisting co-workers in the liquid cosmetics blending operation. This position supports the Compounding Department at the Rahway Manufacturing & Packaging Facility in meeting productivity, safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily activities of the liquid cosmetics blending operation and operate various processing and handling equipment.
  • Manage the proper selection and utilization of materials and equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers and leadership.
  • Report necessary repairs or upgrades to leadership to ensure efficient operations.
  • Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and promptly.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems affecting routine tasks.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards in the Bulk MFG area.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by following safety guidelines.
  • Adhere to GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) related to personal hygiene and handling of raw materials and equipment.
  • Suggest and implement process improvements to increase safety, quality, and reduce costs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a liquid blending manufacturing environment.

Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret technical procedures.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills for interacting with management and inter-department staff.
  • Proactive and constructive collaboration with peers and associates from other departments.
  • Ability to lead individual and team discussions and meetings.
  • Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to assist in training department staff on SOPs, safety, and conduct.
  • Consistent and timely application of relevant policies.
  • Ability to prioritize shift tasks effectively.
  • Strong time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Critical thinking and proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Professionalism and respect in interactions with others, regardless of status or position.

  • Ability to learn and apply Guest Supply technology software and programs.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms, climb, or balance.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • May require travel for company events, staff meetings, training sessions, and vendor fairs.
  • May require use of personal vehicles for business travel, involving long periods of sitting.

Work Environment

  • Moderate noise level in the work environment.
  • Occasional exposure to wet/humid conditions, elevated temperatures, moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, toxic/caustic chemicals, and outdoor weather conditions.
  • May require overtime depending on business needs.
