Compound Management Intern

About the role

Kumquat Biosciences is discovering and developing small molecule drugs that target signal transduction networks for the treatment of cancer and other diseases. Through partnerships with academic and industry experts, we are translating chemical and biological insights into highly targeted, novel drugs. Compound management is an essential component to that drug discovery, encompassing the preparation of samples for testing and maintenance of a library of compounds. This position is ideal for a student looking to gain hands-on experience working in a lab setting.

Responsibilities

• Compound library management and organization
• Compound stock solution preparation
• Compound QC using LC/MS and reporting the QC results
• Registration of chemicals/reagents into inventory database and organizing chemical storage
• Ordering consumables for chemistry lab
• Solvent preparation for instruments
• General laboratory organization and cleanliness tasks
• Shipping and receiving
• General operations tasks

Requirements

• Detail-oriented with good communication skills
• Ability to prioritize activities to execute daily, weekly, and monthly tasks
• Chemistry/biology major preferred
• Ideal candidates will have taken organic chemistry and related chemistry laboratory courses

Schedule

• 15–20 hours per week
• Must be available Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday for at least 4 hours each day
