Compost Sales Representative
About the role
The Inland Empire Utilities Agency is seeking a motivated, customer-focused, and strategic professional to join the team as a Compost Sales Representative. This position plays a key role in expanding market opportunities, strengthening customer relationships, and supporting the Agency’s commitment to sustainable resource recovery and environmental stewardship.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage customer accounts
- Conduct sales negotiations
- Prepare quotes and contracts
- Cookmaster Certificate required within three months of appointment
- Coordinate delivery logistics
- Support invoicing and collections activities
- Promote products through trade shows, conferences, presentations, and outreach efforts
- Support development and implementation of marketing strategies, advertising campaigns, and promotional materials
Requirements
A combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to: Graduation from high school or GED equivalent At least five years of progressively responsible experience in sales and marketing, preferably in agricultural products Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in business administration, marketing, advertising or a closely related field is desired

- Demonstrates a self-motivated and proactive approach to sales and customer engagement
- Applies knowledge of compost products, soil health, organics recycling, landscaping, and agricultural practices to effectively educate customers
- Communicates clearly and professionally with a wide range of stakeholders
- Utilizes strong organizational and customer service skills to coordinate orders and deliveries, manage customer accounts, track sales activities, and respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries and concerns
- Demonstrates strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability when addressing logistical challenges, changing market demands, seasonal fluctuations, and customer needs
- Represents the Agency with professionalism, accountability, and integrity in all interactions
About Us
The Inland Empire Utilities Agency is a regional wastewater treatment agency and wholesale distributor of imported water to approximately 950,000 people across 242-square miles in western San Bernardino County. Under the leadership of a directly elected five-member Board of Directors, the Agency is committed to supporting the needs of its service area and safeguarding public health through significant investments in a diverse water supply portfolio, reliable municipal/industrial wastewater collection and treatment services, and other related utility services in a regionally planned and cost-effective manner.
Selection Process

Salary Range
PR 181 FLSA: Exempt Probationary Period: 12 Months
