Responsibilities
- Lead fabrication of complex aerospace-grade composite structures
- Execute advanced layups and structural builds with minimal supervision
- Perform advanced vacuum bagging and cure cycle operations
- Identify scarf back plies and perform structural repairs
- Troubleshoot manufacturing discrepancies and support root cause analysis
- Interpret complex engineering drawings and work instructions
- Ensure AS9100 material handling compliance
- Mentor and support development of junior technicians
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality and efficiency
- Support engineering in tooling and manufacturability discussions
- Maintain shop organization and PPE compliance
Qualifications
- 5+ years of composite manufacturing experience (aerospace preferred)
- Advanced expertise in layup, bonding, and cure processes
- Demonstrated ability to build flight-critical or high-complexity hardware
- Strong mechanical aptitude and meticulous craftsmanship
- Proficient with pneumatic tools, power tools, and precision measurement equipment
- Experience in AS9100 or similarly regulated environment
- Proven ability to mentor junior team members
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
