Composite & Steel Tooling Fabrication & Design Support Technician III

Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Composite Tooling Fabricator to join our team.

Qualifications

• Fabricating, detailing and preparing composite tooling master model surfaces for tooling prepreg and resin infusion layup processes.
• Supporting tooling design of fixture modifications using 3D modeling software.
• Proficient in Hand lay up of dry fiber and prepreg materials and their associated methodologies.
• Building, detailing, sealing and releasing foam master model plugs in preparation for producing composite tooling.
• Preparation and assembly of steel and aluminum molds and fixturing.
• Able to learn and apply the methodology of GD&T as it pertains to the metrology process in the utilization of portable CMM equipment in support of the tooling dept inspection processes.

Required Skills

• 5+ years mechanical skills relating to assemblies.
• 5+ years understanding of composite & metallic materials.
• 3+ years manual lathe and milling machining experience.
• Manual dexterity and ability to use hand & power tools efficiently and effectively.
• 5+ years experience in tool design using CAD software.
• Able to become certified to wear a respirator.
• Able to lift assemblies weighing up to 50 lbs.
• No known allergies to epoxies or other composites materials.

Desired Skills

• CNC Machining or programming experience (not required).

Work Schedule

Your work schedule for this position is Monday- Friday, 8:00 am-5:30 pm.

Pay and Benefits

The target base pay for this position is $27-$35/hour. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
