Composite Mechanic Locomotive Technician

About the role

The Composite Mechanic Locomotive Technician position at Railroad Carload Express, INC is responsible for performing various maintenance tasks on locomotives and railroad cars.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair locomotives and railroad cars according to manufacturer specifications and company standards.
• Perform inspections and tests to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Install, remove, and adjust parts as necessary to maintain equipment efficiency and performance.
• Follow safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Work independently and as part of a team to complete assigned tasks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• At least 2 years of related experience in railroad maintenance or similar field.
• Knowledge of railroad operations and safety protocols.
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Completion of a formal training program in locomotive repair or equivalent experience.
• Experience with railcar maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Skills

• Proficient in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Pass a background check and drug test.
