About the role

The Compliance Testing Manager performs a key second line of defense role, helping ensure regulatory requirements are met across the enterprise and applicable lines of business. This position is responsible for performing quality assurance on testing executed by compliance testers and supporting the team through guidance, leadership, and process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform final test reviews to evaluate the accuracy of tests executed by compliance testers and adherence to processes and procedures.
  • Analyze quality assurance trends to deliver actionable insights for management and produce practical resources to guide testers.
  • Deliver test performance insights to test managers regarding the quality of associates' test reviews.
  • Execute and manage the team’s regulatory reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and proper review and approvals.
  • Coordinate the preparation, submission, review, and approvals for all audit and exam deliverables.
  • Design comprehensive training programs for new hires and ongoing skill development for existing staff.
  • Lead innovation initiatives, including piloting new testing tools and AI-assisted methodologies (e.g., automation, full-file testing).
  • Manage the identification, tracking, and integration of AML regulatory changes into AML transaction testing.
  • Manage and develop a team of Compliance Testers, including staffing assignments to ensure successful completion of calendar commitments.
  • Develop test plans and continually validate and improve test design.
  • Manage testing schedules to ensure timely completion.
  • Identify the need for improved data sourcing and partner with business and IT areas to develop improved data sources.
  • Manage data sourcing to ensure data is obtained following documented test plans and testing protocols.
  • Amend testing calendar as needed.
  • Analyze and document work results.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with Compliance Advisors and Business Areas.
  • Engage with subject matter experts to determine adherence to test procedures.
  • Provide updates on testing status as needed.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Military Experience.
  • At least 5 years of compliance testing, compliance, legal, audit, risk management, AML, or Fraud investigation experience.
  • At least 2 years of people management experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of Quality Assurance or compliance testing, compliance, legal, audit, risk management, AML, or Fraud investigation experience.
  • 3+ years of people management experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Suspicious Activity Report (SAR), Currency Transaction Report (CTR), and/or Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) filing requirements.
  • Strong working knowledge of both US and Canadian laws and regulations as they relate to AML and Sanctions.
  • Ability to prioritize among many conflicting needs and advocate a course of action while remaining flexible and adaptable to dynamic situations.
  • Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Financial Crime Specialists (CFCS), or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) certification.

Pay

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below by location. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based on the agreed-upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

  • McLean, VA: $151,900 - $173,400
  • Plano, TX: $138,100 - $157,700
  • Richmond, VA: $138,100 - $157,700
  • Wilmington, DE: $138,100 - $157,700

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. This role is also eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long-term incentives (LTI).
