Compliance Technology Program Lead
About the role
The Compliance Technology Program Lead will oversee the development and implementation of compliance technologies for Block's fiat and virtual currency products. This role involves using modern AI tools like Claude to automate parts of the compliance process and ensure that all models and data infrastructure meet regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Build automation to scale oversight, monitoring, and documentation work using AI agents like Claude.
- Design human-in-the-loop checkpoints to make sure automated outputs are defensible to regulators and independent monitors.
- Establish and maintain model and data governance frameworks aligned with regulatory guidelines.
- Provide effective challenge throughout the model development lifecycle and ensure documentation is exam-ready.
- Lead ongoing monitoring through the design and development of real-time dashboards to monitor model health.
- Oversee various models including Transaction Monitoring, Sanctions Screening, Customer Risk Scoring, and AI-driven case resolution.
- Ensure decisions made by AI models are explainable, auditable, and defensible to regulators.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in compliance technology at regulated financial institutions or as a consultant.
- Hands-on experience building with modern AI tools, including Claude and GPT.
- Experience with Machine Learning and Heuristic models across Transaction Monitoring, Sanctions Screening, and Customer Risk Scoring.
- Experience with input data quality monitoring and model performance monitoring.
- Experience conducting AML model validations aligned with regulatory guidelines.
- Familiarity with virtual currencies and blockchain analytics tools.
- Experience with cross-functional initiatives and regulatory compliance.
- Working knowledge of statistical concepts related to machine learning.
- Expertise in data analytics and visualization.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Proven ability to lead complex projects and drive cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with various stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Python, R, or other programming languages relevant to machine learning and data science.
- Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks such as SR 11-7, SR 26-2, and OCC 2011-12.
- Experience with virtual currencies and blockchain technologies.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Pay
Starting pay range varies based on location and experience, ranging from $171,800 to $257,600 USD for Zone A. Please refer to the date listed at the top of this job page for when this role was first posted.
