Compliance Specialist - Locums
Contract (1099) position lasting 13 weeks, approximately 40 hours per week at $26/hour.
About the role
As a vital member of our Compliance team, the Compliance Specialist ensures all temporary healthcare professionals meet regulatory and client-specific compliance standards prior to assignment start dates. This position plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of our services by upholding standards set by HIPAA, OSHA, The Joint Commission, Homeland Security, Trio WFS, and various client organizations. Responsibilities
- Lead, monitor, and maintain the credentialing and re-credentialing process.
- Ensure interpretation and compliance with the appropriate accrediting and regulatory agencies.
- Maintain set production and quality standards.
- Verify that all submitted credentials are current and complete.
- Verify all credentials, including license and applicable certifications.
- Maintain accurate records of all files in Trio VMS.
- Communicate applicable updates and notices to agencies.
- Monitor expiration dates of credentials and COI.
- Maintain privacy and confidentiality (intentional or unintentional) of company and employee information in verbal, written, and electronic form. Limit access to all information to job-related on a need-to-know basis.
- Notify respective senior managers of problem-causing trends with vendors on items needing attention.
- Use independent judgment to manage and impart confidential information.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1–2 years of experience in credentialing, onboarding, compliance, or staffing operations.
- Experience working in high-volume administrative or compliance environments.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
- Ability to quickly learn and navigate multiple systems including VMS and credentialing platforms.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with MSP clients and VMS technology.
- Experience credentialing locums providers with healthcare facilities, communicating with CVO, MSO, and Provider Enrollment teams.
