Key Responsibilities
- Own the day-to-day monitoring and tracking of state and federal legislative and regulatory activity across insurance, landlord-tenant, Fair Housing, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and consumer privacy laws, within a monitoring scope set jointly with Legal; provide clear summaries that enable Legal to assess business impact and advise the business.
- Translate approved policies and governance decisions into documented processes, controls and supporting materials that drive consistent execution across the business.
- Conduct periodic compliance reviews, track findings and lead remediation efforts through completion to strengthen operational compliance and accountability.
- Manage Secretary of State registrations, entity maintenance, insurance licensing, agency appointments and regulatory filings to keep Foxen's entities in good standing across multiple jurisdictions.
- Design and deliver compliance training that equips teams to understand regulatory requirements and apply company policies with confidence.
- Partner with Finance, IT/Security and Legal to support vendor compliance reviews, maintain SOC 2 Type II readiness, and strengthen data governance and audit preparedness.
- Support Foxen’s internal compliance committees by preparing materials, tracking action items, and driving follow-through so governance decisions are implemented effectively.
What You Bring
- At least 5 to 7 years of experience in compliance, ideally within insurance, financial services, landlord-tenant/housing, or another heavily regulated industry.
- Bachelor's degree in business, legal studies, or a related field, or equivalent experience; a J.D. is not required.
- Demonstrated ability to monitor and synthesize complex regulatory developments into clear, actionable guidance for business stakeholders.
- Experience building and improving operational compliance programs, policies or controls across multiple business functions.
- Ability to manage multiple regulatory obligations simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Experience coordinating licensing, corporate filings or other multi-jurisdiction compliance activities in a highly regulated environment.
- Strong judgment in knowing when to escalate matters requiring legal interpretation while independently driving operational execution.
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional partners and lead initiatives that improve compliance outcomes without direct authority.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally across Legal and the broader business.
