Key Responsibilities
- Support the preparation, review, and filing of Form 5500, Form 8955-SSA, participant notices, SAR reports, 1094/1095 filings, PCORI reports, and other required documentation.
- Aid in or conduct nondiscrimination testing, including ADP/ACP, Top Heavy, and 410(b) coverage testing.
- Stay updated on relevant DOL, IRS, ERISA, and ACA requirements and assist with updating plan documents, trust agreements, amendments, and related materials.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits, including 401(k) plan audits, and help identify and resolve compliance issues.
- Partner with ERISA counsel, client relationship managers, plan sponsors, and internal teams to research questions, resolve issues, and ensure compliance requirements are met.
- Manage annual license renewals for the TPA, President, and Chairman of the Board.
- Help develop and maintain processes, documentation, and procedures to ensure consistent and accurate compliance administration.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in employee benefits, retirement plan administration, TPA operations, ERISA/benefits compliance, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of employee benefit plans and applicable DOL, IRS, ERISA, and/or ACA requirements.
- Strong Excel skills and the ability to learn recordkeeping and testing systems such as ASC, Relius, or similar platforms.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with qualified retirement plans, 401(k) administration, Form 5500 filings, nondiscrimination testing, or employee benefits compliance.
- Experience working with plan sponsors, clients, auditors, ERISA counsel, or other external partners.
- ASPPA designation (QKA, QPA, or CPC) or Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS).
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, organization, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
