About the role

This is a remote position. The Compliance Associate will assist with the coordination of annual compliance requirements and testing pursuant to SEC 206(4)-7. In addition, the Associate will assist with ERISA and retirement products and services. This role will work with the Investment Adviser Compliance team on investment advisory and ERISA compliance as well as initiatives to build out controls and support business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate RIA compliance requirements.
  • Assist with the development, testing, and oversight of controls for the investment advisory platform.
  • Collaborate with business partners to ensure compliance with processes, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to compliance risk assessments and conflict identification processes.
  • Develop, analyze, and recommend policy and procedure changes based on business line review.
  • Facilitate periodic reviews of processes with content owners to ensure execution aligns with policy.
  • Handle 13H filing monthly and 13F filing quarterly.
  • Review GIPS reporting as new performance numbers are rolled out.
  • Review and update sales literature on the website to ensure accuracy and timely information.
  • Oversee ERISA compliance requirements.
  • Provide strategic direction in maintaining and enhancing compliance programs and establishing consistency across the firm relating to retirement products and services.
  • Ensure compliance with expanding regulatory requirements and contractual commitments affecting the firm, its clients, and participants in retirement plans.
  • Coordinate compliance activities impacting retirement services and products across the organization to identify areas of program improvement, assist with issue and problem resolution, and implement policies and procedures for retirement services and products.
  • Proactively identify issues and shift priorities as needed to meet the varied needs of the business units supported.
  • Research and understand new and evolving regulatory rules, and help determine or develop recommendations regarding their impact on the firm and various ERISA and Retirement platforms.
  • Leverage existing technology solutions and identify new solutions to fulfill compliance responsibilities.
  • Coordinate regulatory training requirements related to ERISA compliance.
  • Maintain a thorough and up-to-date understanding of regulations governing the company’s business through ongoing education and involvement in industry groups.
  • Collaborate and consult with stakeholders to make recommendations on the types of documents and information necessary to achieve compliance goals.
  • Provide compliance support for Advisory Solutions Group Trading Operations, proxy voting, fee billing, and the advisory platform.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
  • Document and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Collaborate with compliance leadership to implement best practices and technology solutions.
  • Proactively identify emerging risks and adjust priorities as needed.
  • Generate reports on status and timelines.
  • Assist in the use of data analytics and artificial intelligence tools to identify trends, anomalies, and potential compliance risks across advisory and retirement platforms.
  • Support data governance efforts by ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency of compliance data used for regulatory reporting, testing, and exams.
  • Partner with compliance leadership and technology teams to evaluate and implement emerging AI and automation solutions to improve surveillance, testing efficiency, and documentation.

Requirements

  • 2+ years’ experience in financial services compliance or related field.
  • Experience with ERISA compliance programs.
  • Understanding of ERISA 3(21) and 3(38) fiduciary duties.
  • Understanding of ERISA 408(b)(2) requirements.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • FINRA Series 7 & 66 preferred.
  • Independent work skills with the ability to prioritize competing projects and deadlines.
  • Self-starting, proactive person who demonstrates initiative, ownership, and leadership.
  • Drive, enthusiasm, and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to influence and interface with all levels of employees and leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use AI tools and technologies in daily work tasks, including crafting effective prompts, evaluating AI-generated content for accuracy, and integrating AI tools to enhance productivity while maintaining quality standards.
  • Comfort with learning new AI applications and understanding their appropriate use cases and limitations.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $65,000.00 to $75,000.00, exclusive of bonuses and benefits.
