Responsibilities
- Serve as Compliance Lead and primary advisor for assigned business units and product lines.
- Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, translating complex regulatory topics into clear, actionable guidance and executive-level recommendations.
- Lead and influence cross-functional, enterprise-wide initiatives that span multiple business units and product lines.
- Proactively identify emerging regulatory risks and present strategic solutions that align with business objectives and risk appetite.
- Direct and manage regulatory matters in a manner that builds credibility with regulators and reinforces The Hartford’s reputation.
- Develop and execute compliance strategies and audit programs to identify and mitigate organizational risk.
- Analyze multi-jurisdictional regulatory requirements and provide practical, business-oriented guidance to stakeholders.
- Represent Compliance in leadership forums, demonstrating strong executive presence, sound judgment, and the ability to influence outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a commercial insurance regulatory environment and/or with commercial insurance products.
- Demonstrated experience supporting and influencing senior leaders and executive stakeholders
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to distill complex issues for executive audiences
- Proven ability to build relationships and operate effectively across all levels of the organization
- Collaborative, self-motivated, resourceful, and able to balance strategic thinking with execution
- J.D. from accredited law school preferred (but not required)
Qualifications

Pay
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is: $104,000 - $156,000
