Compliance and Risk Manager

Pay rate: $90.00 - $100.00/hr.

About the role

The People Data Review Program Manager will join the People Risk, Privacy, Compliance (PRPC) team to work across key partners and lead risk initiatives to scale our global program. This role ensures end-to-end assessment of employment, privacy, and AI risk in new and client use cases impacting People Data. The ideal candidate has proven risk management skills, is a systems thinker, and has experience leading highly complex and matrixed company initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Perform deep-dive risk assessments across privacy and employment compliance, focusing on product-facing initiatives.
• Apply and maintain rigorous risk frameworks to evaluate complex compliance risks.
• Partner with technical teams to understand product infrastructure and data processing to assess associated risks.
• Support the People Data Review program, managing high-intensity workflows with a no-fail approach to speed and detail.
• Influence product development through "compliance by design" principles to ensure long-term adherence to global protection standards.
• Lead end-to-end risk assessments for projects involving people data, maintaining accountability and collaborating with legal.
• Resolve issues identified during reviews in partnership with legal and cross-functional compliance teams.
• Develop and own communication plans to proactively update stakeholders and leadership on program status, issues, and risks.
• Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, and ensure HR Compliance is not compromised.
• Define and track key metrics, quality, and performance indicators to drive cross-functional execution of program deliverables.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of professional experience in risk assessment, assurance, and compliance management.
• Strong expertise in privacy and/or employment compliance and data protection (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
• A strong technical data background, including understanding of infrastructure and data processing.
• Exceptional structured thinking and an analytical approach to risk where speed and precision are critical.
• Proven track record of taking full ownership of work with reliability and trustworthiness.
• Risk management or compliance expertise, preferably in 2nd line of defense risk management or internal audit within a tech company.
• Strong background in People Data Privacy and/or User Data Privacy.
• Employment compliance experience.
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and "hit the ground running."
• Proven ability to conduct risk assessments for privacy, employment, security, and AI compliance in fast-paced environments.
• Working knowledge or willingness to quickly learn employment laws, regulations, industry guidance, and company compliance policies.
• Demonstrated data analytical skills, creativity, and attention to detail.
• Experience maintaining open, candid, and trusting work relationships with engineering teams and legal partners.

Pay

The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is $90.00 - $100.00/hr. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts are determined by factors including relevant skills, education, and experience.
