About the role
The Compliance Analyst I of State Approvals reports to the Executive Director of Institutional Compliance and supports the State Approvals team in maintaining compliance with state authorization requirements.
Responsibilities
- Supports state authorization processes by tracking application statuses, deadlines, and required documentation.
- Affords assistance to the State Approvals team with the preparation and coordination of initial and renewal applications, including gathering information from internal departments.
- Maintains and updates tracking tools, calendars, and compliance records to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Generates and distributes routine and ad hoc reports (e.g., Argos, Tableau) to support compliance monitoring and reporting needs.
- Affords support in reviewing and maintaining student disclosures for professional licensure programs to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Supports student communication efforts related to disclosures and compliance requirements, including responding to inquiries and coordinating outreach.
- Conducts Apex form review and quality control (QC) to verify completeness and accuracy, escalating discrepancies as appropriate to the Executive Director of Institutional Compliance.
- Affords support in monitoring student location data to support compliance with state authorization and related policies.
- Provides support to the State Approvals team during audits and state reviews by compiling documentation and responding to information requests.
Qualifications
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business-related discipline; Knowledge in the area of State Authorization, reciprocal agreements, and board approval processes; Experience supporting compliance, higher education administration, or regulatory processes (state authorization experience preferred).
- Minimum Qualifications: Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include days, evenings, and weekends; Bachelor's degree in related field; 1-2 years’ experience in compliance or related field; Excellent and detail-oriented communication and organizational skills; Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools, including the ability to manage datasets, perform basic analysis, and ensure data integrity; Ability to manage multiple data sources and maintain organized, accurate records in a compliance-driven environment; Individual must not be in default on any federal student or parent loan; Individual must not be convicted of, or pled nolo contendere or guilty to, a crime involving the acquisition, use, or expenditure of federal, state, or local government funds, -or- be administratively or judicially determined to have committed fraud or any other material violation of law involving federal, state, or local government funds (CFR 668.14(b)(18)(i)).
