Compliance Analyst - Corporate Compliance

About the role

The Compliance Analyst reports to the Director of Global Compliance and assists with the coordination and administration of activities related to the Dick’s Sporting Goods Corporate Compliance Program. These activities include policy and procedure governance, regulatory and legislative research, training maintenance, global program support, program monitoring, and advancement of current compliance programs through cross functional communication, collaboration, and the facilitation of ad hoc projects.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate enterprise-wide policy and procedure governance, including consulting with stakeholders on updates, maintenance, tracking, and records management.
  • Monitor Regulatory Activity: Track, research, and understand legislative and regulatory activity applicable to the Company including requirements related to U.S. and global retail environment.
  • Support Management of Corporate Compliance Programs: Assist with the management and operationalization of existing Corporate Compliance programs. Recommend and help implement new and integrated programs. Assist with or lead program documentation, implementing technology solutions, and process improvement.
  • Compliance Advisory Support: Support internal business partners with quick, accurate, and relevant answers to regulatory, technical, or other compliance-related questions to resolve issues.
  • Compliance Culture & Strategic Insights: Assist in identifying compliance risks, partnering with others to find solutions, and proactively fostering a compliance culture. Assist with industry benchmarking and research to inform Corporate Compliance strategy.
  • Compliance Training Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional partners on maintenance and updates of Compliance training. Track and monitor training completion activity. Conduct in-person or other training as needed.
  • Ad hoc Support: Provide other support as needed to the Global Compliance Team, including the VP of Corporate Compliance & Associate General Counsel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, law, human resources, organizational leadership, liberal arts or social sciences
  • 1 - 3 years' experience in corporate compliance, regulatory, retail, policy governance, project management, sports management or distribution, or other relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with diverse workforces and global stakeholders is a plus.
  • CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) - Preferred But Not Required
  • CCEP-I, CCEP, (Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional) or similar - preferred but not required
  • PMP – Preferred But Not Required

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Experience in policy and procedure governance, especially GRC tools preferred
  • Strong critical thinking skills and demonstrated interest in integrity, compliance, and ethical business practices
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements in a retail environment is an advantage, especially global requirements
  • Project management and or process improvement experience a plus
  • Excellent research and investigative skills
  • Ability to lead group discussions and synthesize feedback for actionable next steps and positive business outcomes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
