About the role

The Compliance Administrator oversees licensing, permitting, and regulatory compliance activities that support Student Housing Technologies' expanding technology and monitoring services. This role ensures the organization maintains compliance with applicable state, local, and federal requirements by managing registrations, renewals, audits, reporting obligations, and compliance documentation. The Compliance Administrator proactively tracks regulatory changes, coordinates compliance efforts across departments, and develops processes that support scalable growth while minimizing operational and regulatory risk.

Reports to: Network Operations Manager

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain awareness of state and local regulations related to video surveillance, CCTV monitoring, AI-assisted analytics, audio recording, privacy, and data retention requirements.
  • Maintain a compliance matrix documenting licensing, registration, notification, and operational requirements for any CCTV monitoring services in each state where services are offered.
  • Research regulatory changes and communicate compliance impacts, risks, and required operational changes to management.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and third-party vendors to ensure monitoring operations remain compliant with applicable state and local requirements.
  • Assist in the onboarding of new Acuity properties by verifying monitoring, recording, retention, and notification requirements applicable to the property's jurisdiction.
  • Maintain documentation, permits, registrations, and compliance records related to monitoring operations.
  • Review and escalate potential compliance concerns, customer complaints, or regulatory inquiries related to CCTV monitoring and analytics services.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor’s in IT, Computer Science, or relevant field preferred.
  • Proven experience as an access control technician or in a similar customer support role.
  • 1+ years of customer service experience.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of IT security principles and practices.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Certified Access Control Specialist) are a plus.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Travel: 10-20%
