COMPLIANCE ADMINISTRATOR

About the role
The Compliance Administrator serves as the facility’s subject matter expert on all compliance and accreditation issues. This position develops, maintains, and revises assessment instruments to monitor the success of a facility’s compliance activities, creates reports for management, and recommends process improvements. The Compliance Administrator is solely accountable for communicating rules, regulations, and guidelines to all impacted areas throughout the facility, serves as the facility’s liaison for interpreting compliance and accreditation policies, and acts on behalf of the organization during audits.
Responsibilities
- Review and assess all functional areas within the facility to identify compliance issues.
- Audit reports or inquiries from Corporate, clients, or outside entities and coordinate drafting appropriate responses.
- Develop effective instruments to determine whether departments are in compliance.
- Meet with department managers to assess compliance with organizational, contracting client, and/or outside party requirements; partner with managers to develop strategies for non-compliant areas.
- Serve as the facility’s subject matter expert for interpreting compliance and accreditation criteria.
- Validate that facility policies and procedures comply with organizational, contracting clients, and/or outside party guidelines.
- Perform operational reviews and audits of all functional areas as required by a published schedule, report findings of noncompliance, and recommend corrective actions.
- Collect and report compliance or accreditation data to relevant parties.
- Serve as the facility’s liaison to the organization, contracting client, and/or other outside parties to ensure timely responses to inquiries.
- Ensure effective working relationships with employees, contracting agents, and the general public.
- Present information on compliance and accreditation issues to the facility.
- Ensure effective implementation of the organization’s Quality Control Program (QCP).
- May supervise Compliance Auditors.
- Analyze departmental operations and develop action plans to improve service delivery systems.
- Maintain all database and paper documentation on the facility’s compliance and accreditation programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Finance, or a related field, along with three (3) years of experience in a confinement, law enforcement, or compliance-related capacity.
- OR a high school diploma or GED with five (5) years of progressive experience in confinement, law enforcement, or compliance-related fields (substitutable at management’s discretion).
- Experience must demonstrate an understanding of facility operations and the ability to compare them to organizational, contracting client, and third-party compliance and accreditation policies.
- Experience in compliance, accreditation, and quality management is highly desirable.
- Above-average verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to make presentations to employees at all levels of the facility.
- Ability to write cohesive and comprehensive documentation.
- May be required to travel.
- Proficiency with computers and department-specific software.
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
