About the role
The Completions Lining Technician assists with the fitting, modification, and installation of aircraft interior lining components including headliners, sidewalls, and cabin panels. This role supports interior completion activities while learning proper installation techniques, engineering drawing interpretation, and regulatory compliance requirements associated with aircraft interior modifications.
Essential Job Functions
- Learn proper techniques for fitting, modifying, and installing fabricated aircraft lining components including headliners, sidewalls, and cabin panels.
- Interpret material specifications and engineering drawings to ensure installations meet design specifications, quality standards, and customer expectations.
- Coordinate and request required materials in a timely manner to maintain continuous workflow and support production schedules.
- Ensure all regulatory documentation is completed in accordance with the Repair Station Quality Manual (RSQM) and other internal and external quality standards.
- Follow all departmental safety procedures and ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and protective devices.
- Develop a working knowledge of company installation procedures, process specifications, Internal Operating Procedures (IOPs), and standard work instructions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with company housekeeping and safety standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Relevant technical or trade school program attendance is preferred.
- At least 1 year of aircraft interior installation experience, preferably within a corporate aviation completions environment.
- A basic understanding of aircraft interior installation processes related to cabin lining systems.
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation.
Required Skills and Abilities
- A basic knowledge of aircraft interior installation techniques and willingness to develop advanced skills.
- A willingness to learn and understand RSQM requirements and applicable FAA regulations related to interior installations.
- A working knowledge of computers and software systems used within the organization.
- A willingness to learn Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
- A strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with team members and supervisors.
- An ability to follow instructions and work effectively under supervision in a production environment.
Work Environment
- This position is based in an aircraft hangar environment and may involve:
- Exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions
- Loud noise levels
- Use of heavy machinery and specialized tools
- Potential contact with chemicals or hazardous materials
- Working in confined aircraft interior spaces
