Competition Cheer Team - Head Coach

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement training programs
• Plan and execute comprehensive training sessions
• Provide guidance and feedback to help athletes reach their full potential
• Oversee team selection, discipline, and morale
• Monitor the physical and mental well-being of athletes
• Work with athletes, parents, and the Recreation and Sports Coordinator to organize training schedules, travel arrangements, and other logistical details
• Scout and recruit talented athletes from Delano High School
• Ensure the team adheres to MCCA, USA Cheer, and NFHS rules and regulations
• Maintain and manage team equipment, including uniforms
• Choreograph and teach cheerleading routines
• Ensure all cheerleading activities are conducted safely
• Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols
• Partner with the Recreation and Sports Coordinator to develop and manage the program's budget

Requirements

• Proven experience working as a cheerleading coach
• Knowledge of competitive cheerleading scoring rubrics and rules (preferred)
• Experience competing as a cheerleader (preferred)
• Stunting certification obtained from USA Cheer or willingness to become certified
• Ability to collaborate with others on the cheerleading coaching staff
• The motivation to seek out professional development

Stipend

Amount Range: $1,500 - $2,000 based on enrollment
