Compensation Reporting Specialist

Role Overview
The Compensation Reporting Specialist reports to Compensation leadership within Total Rewards and supports the development, execution, and continuous improvement of reporting, analytics, and data processes across the Compensation function. This role plays an important part in ensuring compensation data is accurate, consistent, and translated into meaningful insights for internal stakeholders. The position provides broad exposure to compensation programs - including base pay, annual cash incentive plans, equity, and market benchmarking - offering a strong foundation to build skills and grow into broader Compensation or Total Rewards roles over time. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and an interest in using data to support effective compensation decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the administration and maintenance of compensation reporting processes, tools, and datasets to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and data integrity
- Aid in developing and maintaining compensation dashboards and reporting solutions using Excel, Power BI, and other analytics tools
- Produce recurring and ad hoc reports for Compensation leadership, HR Business Partners, and other stakeholders, including metrics related to base pay, annual cash incentive plans, workforce costs, and pay equity
- Support analysis of compensation programs (e.g., merit, annual cash plans, long-term incentives), helping translate data into clear insights and summaries
- Build knowledge of compensation data definitions, reporting standards, and key metrics (e.g., compa-ratio, range penetration, pay mix, incentive outcomes) to promote consistency and reliability
- Partner with Compensation, HRIS, and Finance teams to support data processes, system enhancements, and reporting needs across platforms such as Workday and other internal systems
- Support equity administration activities, including data validation, reporting, and reconciliation related to stock grants and vesting
- Aid in data preparation and submissions for external surveys, market benchmarks, and regulatory or governance reporting
- Contribute to audit and review activities by ensuring compensation data and reporting outputs are accurate and well-documented
- Help prepare materials and presentations that communicate compensation insights and trends to stakeholders
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes through automation, improved data workflows, and emerging AI tools
- Participate in cross-functional and cross-topic assignments (e.g., benchmarking, equity support, or reporting enhancements) to build well-rounded compensation experience
- Aid in ongoing documentation and maintenance of compensation reporting processes and knowledge resources
- Aid with additional compensation initiatives and projects as needed
Knowledge & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 1–3 years of experience in reporting, analytics, data administration, or a related field (Compensation, HR, Finance, or similar preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify trends
- Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with PowerPoint and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI or Tableau)
- Familiarity with HR systems such as Workday or similar platforms is a plus
- Interest in compensation concepts, workforce analytics, and data-driven decision-making
- Interest in applying automation and AI tools to improve reporting and analytics processes
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to translate data into clear, actionable insights
- Demonstrated curiosity and willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and compensation concepts
Compensation
Voya is committed to pay that’s fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities. The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
