About the role

The Eastern Colorado Health Care System, LakewoodClinic is seeking Family Practice or Internal Medicine physicians to conduct Disability Examinations on Veterans.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Disability Examinations for Veterans
• Evaluate General Medical Conditions
• Order and Evaluate Diagnostic Studies
• Generate C&P Examination Reports
• Record Exams on DBQs (Disability Benefits Questionnaires)
• Work Within VA Guidelines and Quality Indicators
• Generate Reports Adequate for Rating Purposes
• Function as a Resource Person for Other Examiners

Requirements

• 5 Years of Experience in Disability Evaluations
• US Citizenship
• Internal Medicine or Family Practice Physician License
• Residency Trained

Qualifications

• BC/BE in Internal Medicine or Family Practice

Skills

• Knowledge of VA Guidelines and Quality Indicators
• Ability to Evaluate Veterans Based on Physical, Psycho/Social, Cultural, Safety, and Age-Related Factors
• Leadership in the C&P Service
• Effective Communication Between VHA and VBA
