Compensation Consultant
Location: Rosedale Office Building • First Shift • 40 hours/week
About the role
The Compensation Consultant is a key member of the compensation team with shared accountability for the success of the function. As an internal consultant and subject-matter expert, you will build and sustain relationships while delivering the full range of compensation services to organizational leadership. You will partner with customers to create innovative, effective, and sustainable solutions to their challenges and routinely collaborate with HR Partners, Payroll, IT, and other colleagues to drive implementation and provide thought leadership on compensation policy and practice.
The role educates, advises, and guides customers on risks, best practices, and recommended approaches. As an individual contributor, you will apply experience and judgment to assist in developing and implementing strategic initiatives, lead and oversee project delivery, and coach lower-level analysts on best methods for delivering compensation services.
Responsibilities
- Analyze compensation data and information to identify underlying principles, develop models, and propose solutions.
- Partner with customers to design and implement innovative, effective, and sustainable compensation solutions.
- Collaborate with HR Partners, Payroll, IT, and other stakeholders to drive compensation policy and practice.
- Educate, advise, and guide customers on risks, best practices, and recommended approaches to compensation challenges.
- Assist in developing and implementing strategic compensation initiatives and oversee project delivery.
- Coach and counsel lower-level analysts on best methods for delivering compensation services.
- Apply strong judgment and decision-making to evaluate costs and benefits of potential actions.
- Influence direction and organizational decisions related to pay policy and practice.
- Ensure compliance with employment law and regulatory guidelines, including FLSA and pay equity laws.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, human resources, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive compensation experience.
- Advanced ability to analyze data, develop models, and propose solutions.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (e.g., V-lookups, pivot tables, data visualization tools).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly.
- Strong customer service orientation, with a willingness to listen, support, and assist.
- Familiarity with employment law and demonstrated proficiency in applying regulatory guidelines related to compensation.
- Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to partner with, coach, and build credibility with senior leaders.
