Compensation Consultant
Job Description
A leading organization is seeking a Compensation Consultant focused on Accommodations to design, implement, and scale compensation practices that support employees requiring workplace accommodations. This role is at the intersection of Total Rewards, HR Operations, Legal/Compliance, and Employee Experience, ensuring that compensation decisions related to accommodations are equitable, compliant, and operationally efficient.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of end-to-end SOPs for managing accommodation-related compensation cases.
- Build scalable, repeatable workflows covering intake, decision frameworks, compensation adjustment guidelines, and return-to-work processes.
- Create playbooks, templates, and decision trees to enable consistent execution by HR partners and employee relations teams.
- Establish governance models and escalation paths for complex or high-risk cases.
- Drive process adoption and training across cross-functional stakeholders.
- Design and manage compensation frameworks for employees requiring workplace accommodations, ensuring pay decisions are internally equitable and market-aligned.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to People Partners, Employee Relations, and Benefits & Leave Management teams.
- Analyze compensation trends across accommodation cases to identify equity gaps and cost implications.
Requirements
- 5–8+ years of experience in compensation, total rewards, HR operations, or consulting.
- Demonstrated experience building SOPs, playbooks, or operational frameworks at scale.
- Strong understanding of compensation structures, job architecture, and pay equity principles.
- Experience partnering with HR, Legal, and Employee Relations on sensitive workforce topics.
- Strong analytical and process design mindset.
- Experience supporting or designing accommodations, return-to-work, or leave programs.
- Familiarity with ADA, FMLA, and state-specific labor regulations.
- Experience in high-growth tech or SaaS environments.
- Experience driving operational transformation or process standardization initiatives.

Qualifications
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as SHRM-CP, PHR, SPHR, or similar.
- Experience with compensation software and tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay
The compensation for this role is commensurate with experience.
Schedule
This is a contract role with a work schedule of 20-30 hours per week.
