Compass Rose Analyst
This position is remote with potential for 25% travel and is not open to candidates who reside or plan to reside in California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, or Washington.
About the Role
This position supports information technology applications through planning, designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing healthcare systems. Key applications include electronic health records, registration, scheduling, billing and collections, lab and pathology, radiology, PACS, cardiovascular, pharmacy, home care, long-term care, population health, consumer and patient-facing technologies, enterprise resource planning, workforce scheduling, time and attendance, and customer relationship management.
The role involves providing technical support, configuration, and maintenance for healthcare applications throughout their lifecycle (e.g., selection, implementation, support, archival, and decommissioning). The analyst may also manage small projects related to these applications and maintain necessary certifications (e.g., Epic).
Responsibilities
- Provides support to stakeholders by analyzing and diagnosing problems to determine resolution.
- Gathers, validates, and translates technological requirements into design and development specifications while providing product management.
- Configures, tests, installs, implements, monitors, and maintains common and complex systems (applications, workflows, processes, hardware, etc.).
- Documents and recommends workflow changes and technical/functional designs to support business requirements.
- Partners with external vendors to support related third-party applications, including integration, implementation, support, and troubleshooting.
- Solves common issues, incidents, and problems according to agreed-upon service levels and department standards.
- Serves as a project manager and completes PM functions for small to mid-size projects with multiple teams.
- Collaboratively works with peers, internal and external stakeholders, and vendors.
- Follows documentation and change management standards.
- Participates in the development of training and knowledge-based materials for peers, end-users, and other team members.
- Configures and integrates electronic and mechanical hardware with software products to meet client specifications.
- Develops and understands business reporting needs for end users.
- Participates in on-call and command center responsibilities, if applicable.
- Assists in developing and maintaining testing plans and scripts to verify system outputs and integrity.
- Attends and participates in team, project, and department meetings to increase awareness and information flow.
- Works with project requestors to complete the minimum viable product of a demand in ServiceHub.
- Requests resources for projects and enhancement work using the ServiceHub Resource Plan process.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs (Excel with pivot tables, Visio, Project, PowerPoint, Word).
- In-depth business and application knowledge and experience.
- Knowledge of system analysis and operating systems.
- Skilled in assessing needs and determining the best approach through documentation.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret industry periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write correspondence and process documents.
- Operate computers and other IT equipment requiring finger and hand movement.
- Ability to see and read computer monitors and documents.
- Ability to remain sitting or standing for long periods.
Qualifications
Preferred:
- Certification in Epic Healthy Planet Compass Rose, Epic Clinical Case Management, or Epic ClinDoc with experience building Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) and Reporting Workbench Reports.
- 2+ years of recent (within the last 18 months) experience building in Epic.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, healthcare, business, or a related field (preferred). Additional relevant experience may substitute for lack of education upon approval.
- Two (2) years of work experience, or actively working toward a bachelor’s degree with 4 years of experience in a related area.
- Required to certify on one or more Epic applications and maintain certification.
Schedule
- Monday - Friday, 8AM - 5PM MT.
- Scheduled weekly hours: 40.
Pay
Hourly range: $32.42 - $51.08 (actual rate dependent upon experience).
