Companion and caregiver part time morning and day hours in Charleston
About the role
The Caregiver/ Companion provides clients various personal care and homemaker/companion services in accordance with an established plan of care so that they can remain in their residence.
Responsibilities
- Personal Care/Ambulation: Provide assistance with bed bathing, changing , personal care; provide transfer from bed to chair; provide assistance with basic activities of daily living; provide companionship.
- Companion/Sitter/Household Management: Provide companionship and respite services for family; perform homemaking activities which include (but are not limited to): vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry and cleaning bathrooms.
- Medication Assistance Services (with RN supervision and delegation).
Requirements
1+ year caregiving experience for caregivers; passion to help others, willing to learn for companions (training provided); must be able to pass drug screen and background check; must have reliable transportation.
Pay
Shifts start at $17‑$18 per hour. The posting also mentions pay $16‑$17/hr DOE and lists compensation as $17.00‑$18.00 per hour.
Schedule
Morning and day shifts available in Johns Island, West Ashley, and James Island. Specific companion schedules: Johns Island, Monday‑Thursday 9:30 am‑12:30 pm; Johns Island, Tues/Thurs 10:00 am‑1:00 pm. Caregiver positions: Johns Island, Monday‑Thursday, 5 daily hours. Full weekend shifts also available.
