Responsibilities
- Perform setup and operation of computer and/or electronic controlled machines.
- Work from operation sheets, specifications, blueprints, manuals, etc.
- Use shop mathematics, handbook formulas, and a variety of precision instruments to operate machines.
- Load, locate, and align parts in fixtures.
- Install specified numerical control tape at designated positions in tape readers.
- Place all console switches, selectors, and controls in proper sequence.
- Complete various operations necessary to operate the machine.
- Determine and make necessary adjustments to cause of malfunctions.
- Review Cordax readouts and assist Tool Design as needed.
- Set up new fixtures, programs, and readouts during operation.
- Maintain set-up during operation and correct tooling faults.
- Try out set-ups.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to read and utilize blueprints.
- Ability to utilize measuring equipment.
- Previously held a position demonstrating the ability to set-up and operate manufacturing machinery.
- Satisfactorily completed company-provided or outside training demonstrating some machine skills.
- Knowledge equivalent to that required in the Machine Operator classification.
