About the role

Responsibilities

• Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar daily, including requisitioning and stocking of all required items.
• Maintain stock, cut, and store all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables daily to ensure product quality.
• Greet guests courteously and document their drink orders.
• Mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard recipes and practice prudent portion control.
• Input orders into a register at the point of sale and create a check for each guest, including those served by other beverage servers.
• Receive cash from guests, make change, verify charges, record payments, and execute vouchers to balance all money.
• Lock and store all beverage, food, and other equipment items, deposit cash drops, and secure bank.
• Comply with attendance rules and be available to work regularly.
• Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

• Hotel experience preferred.
• Communicate well with guests.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
• Basic mathematical skills to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes.
• Sufficient manual dexterity in hands to use a knife, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock.
• Ability to remember, recite, and promote the variety of menu items.
• Ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures to pre-check an order and close out a check.
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods of time.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers, and patrons.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.
