About the role

Aid in the delivery of Girl Scout programs that align with the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. Support the Senior Community Troop Manager in curriculum delivery, recruit volunteers, and organize Girl Scout troops.

Responsibilities

  • Support curriculum delivery, including badge and girl journey instruction
  • Develop relationships with tenant associations, educational institutions, and other community organizations to promote Girl Scouting
  • Initiate and follow up with contacts to understand and advocate for Girl Scouting
  • Organize and maintain Girl Scout troops and groups
  • Induct and orient new leaders and recruit/train volunteer support personnel
  • Deliver programs for girls according to established schedules
  • Identify service needs and report to supervisor
  • Maintain records and prepare reports as requested
  • Attend meetings with supervisor and receive training
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years college or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of Girl Scouts mission, values, and culture
  • Experience in program administration, including direct delivery with youth and adults
  • Excellent organizational and written/verbal communication skills
  • Ability to engage and manage groups of children, families, and adults
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to work
  • Flexible with a willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends

Other Considerations

  • Annual membership with GSUSA required
  • Valid, unencumbered driver's license with daily access to transportation and proof of vehicle insurance
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends

  • Communicate effectively
  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus
  • Hand/eye coordination skills are essential
  • Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
  • Exposure to seasonal weather and generally outside weather conditions
  • Occasional exposure to noise
