Community Technician - Inwood - Wednesday-Sunday 8am-4:30pm

Duties/Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe environment by assisting in monitoring the residential program.
• Engage individuals in an approachable and empathetic manner during rounds and address varied needs.
• Manage conflict or challenging behaviors with self-awareness, emphasizing safety and building trust.
• Create written documentation, including logbook entries, incident reports, and progress notes.
• Screen residents and visitors at the front door, manage inventory for supplies, conduct fire safety drills, and provide emergency first aid, CPR assistance, and NARCAN when needed.
• Assist with inspections and audits.
• Escort clients and serve meals as needed.
• Help maintain an orderly and clean facility.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• CPR Certification or the ability to obtain certification required.
• NYC Fire Safety Guard Certification or the ability to obtain certification required.
• NYC Fire Safety Coordinator Certification preferred; willingness to attempt to acquire certification.
• Security guard license preferred; willingness to attempt to acquire license.
• Food Handler Certificate preferred; willingness to attempt to acquire certification.
• TB clearance when required.
• Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness preferred.
• Effectively communicate with others both in writing and orally.
• Able to maintain professional boundaries.
• Basic computer literacy required.
• Bilingual abilities a plus.
• Vaccination preferred but not required.
