Community Technician - 119th Street - Saturday-Wednesday 7am-3:30pm

Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring this residential program for individuals experiencing homelessness, with a focus on maintaining a safe environment.
• Engage individuals in an approachable and empathetic manner while performing rounds and addressing varied needs.
• Manage conflict or challenging behaviors with self-awareness, emphasizing safety and building trust while understanding each person's unique experience.
• Screen residents and visitors at the front door.
• Create written documentation, including logbook entries, incident reports, and progress notes.
• Manage inventory for supplies, maintain fire safety drills and logs.
• Provide emergency first aid/CPR assistance/NARCAN when needed.
• Assist with inspections and audits.
• Escort clients and serve meals as needed.
• Help maintain an orderly and clean facility.
• Related duties as assigned.
• This position is subject to mandatory overtime.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required.
• CPR Certification or the ability to obtain certification required.
• NYC Fire Safety Guard Certification or the ability to obtain certification required.
• NYC Fire Safety Coordinator Certification preferred; employees must be willing to attempt to acquire certification.
• Security guard license preferred; employees must be willing to attempt to acquire license.
• Food Handler Certificate preferred; employees must be willing to attempt to acquire certification.
• TB clearance when required.
• Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness preferred.
• Effectively communicate with others both in writing and orally.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries.
• Basic computer literacy required.
• Bilingual abilities a plus.
• Vaccination preferred but not required.

Schedule

Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
