About the role

Make a difference every shift at BRC, a 24/7 program that supports individuals experiencing homelessness.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe, orderly residential environment through active monitoring and rounds
  • Engage residents using trauma-informed and de-escalation techniques
  • Respond to conflicts, safety concerns, and crises professionally
  • Screen residents and visitors while maintaining dignity and security
  • Provide emergency support (First Aid/CPR, Narcan – training provided)
  • Complete documentation (logbooks, incident reports, progress notes)
  • Support fire safety procedures, inspections, and compliance
  • Assist with meals, escorts, inventory, and facility upkeep

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Strong communication skills and basic computer proficiency
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain professional boundaries
  • Willingness to obtain required certifications

Qualifications

  • Preferred: Security Guard license, Food Handler Certificate, or similar certifications
  • Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply

Skills

  • Experience in trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and crisis intervention
  • BRC-sponsored certifications (CPR/First Aid, Narcan, Fire Safety Guard, etc.)

Pay

  • $18.00 - $20.00 per hour based on experience

Schedule

  • Full-time, 37.5 hours/week
  • Morning, evening, and overnight shifts available
  • Mandatory overtime required
