Community Support Worker (Montgomery / Bucks)

About the role

KenCrest is seeking Community Support Workers to empower individuals with intellectual disabilities and diverse behavioral or mental health needs to live independently and participate fully in their communities.

Responsibilities

• Aid with household management, ADLs, and errands
• Assist with attending appointments and providing support with self-advocacy, communication, and self-expression
• Work towards achieving desired goals and outcomes
• Other support duties as necessary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
• Valid and current driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record (2 years' driving experience required)
• Minimum two (2) years working with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities or Autism
• Minimum 1-2 years' experience working with individuals with diverse behavioral or mental health diagnoses
• Ability to work independently in a home and/or community setting without direct supervision
• Ability to communicate, understand, and use technology (eg. iPad), and apply comprehensive organization skills
• Ability to pass background checks and drug screening per state requirements
• Ability to understand, speak, read, and follow instructions in English
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
