About the role

Community Support Specialists (CSS) provide mental health and substance use treatment support in a person's community. This role offers unique learning opportunities through care planning and case management, helping clients navigate complex systems and build daily living skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide mental health and substance use treatment support in a person’s community
  • Remove barriers to mental healthcare through case management: connect clients with resources and assist in navigating complex systems
  • Help clients strengthen daily living skills by driving them to appointments and errands
  • Adapt to clients' schedules, needs, and treatment plans each day

Requirements

  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong writing skills
  • Good time management and organization
  • Aged 21 or older
  • Valid driver’s license, current car insurance, and daily access to a personal vehicle
  • Willingness to provide transportation to clients

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED certificate and 5 years of supervised clinical experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field
  • Bachelor’s degree in an unrelated field and 2 years of supervised clinical experience
  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field
