Community Support Associate

About the role

A Community Support Associate (CSA) provides assigned Medicaid-eligible clients the services necessary to allow them to live with maximum independence in the community. The CSA delivers intervention through skills training, cueing, or supervision in the client’s treatment plan; supports medication adherence and symptom/side-effect recognition; offers non-clinical but therapeutic behavioral intervention, support, and skills training; assists in accessing and utilizing community resources; teaches emotional regulation skills; and helps develop and enhance interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Completes documentation accurately within Medicaid-mandated time frames, including treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and intake paperwork.
• Provides intervention services to identified participants and consults with the treatment team to assess client needs and level of support.
• Attends bi-weekly supervision with the clinical director, utilizing case review feedback and following through with provided instruction/directive.
• Maintains confidentiality of client information at all times, including during community-based activities.
• Follows all safety guidelines with clients, including reporting abuse policies.
• Adheres to time and attendance policies, maintaining reliable attendance and punctuality to ensure consistent patient care.
• Adheres to Cultivate Behavioral Management Corp policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma, GED, or qualifying documentation from a comparable educational entity.
• One (1) year of full-time experience working with individuals who receive services for treatment of a mental health disorder or co-occurring disorder.
• Successfully complete within six (6) months of hire the department-led or approved training program described in Kentucky State Regulations 908 KAR 2:250 (CSA).
• Complete six (6) hours of training or education related to:
  • Principles of recovery and resilience,
  • Principles of psychiatric rehabilitation,
  • Effective listening and communication skills,
  • Diagnosis and medication management of mental health disorders or co-occurring disorders, and
  • Crisis coping skills.

Pay

Competitive pay: $15–$17 per hour (based on experience).
