The Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board is seeking a full-time Community Stabilization Specialist - Mobile Crisis to join their team in Hampton, VA. This position offers direct engagement with individuals in crisis, care coordination, and skill building.
Responsibilities
- Implement skill-building interventions and engage natural supports to facilitate de-escalation and stabilization strategies
- Provide critical care coordination to assist clients transitioning between different levels of care
- Work with seriously mentally ill individuals, those with substance-related disorders, and emotionally impaired clients using assessment and crisis intervention techniques
- Maintain thorough documentation, monitor progress, and coordinate appointments
- Foster effective working relationships in a supportive team environment
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Services such as Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling
- One (1) year experience providing behavioral health services to adults with serious mental illness or emotionally impaired
- Must be registered with the Board of Counseling to practice as a QMHP or be eligible to register as a QMHP-Trainee within 30 days of employment
- Valid Virginia Driver's License
