The Community Relations Officer (CRO) is responsible for outreach activities within the communities we serve, promoting the credit union by attending trade shows, school district events, and community events throughout the Central Coast. This position is primarily based in San Luis Obispo, with occasional travel to Monterey County and Santa Barbara County.

Responsibilities

  • Provides financial wellness presentations to a wide range of student and adult populations
  • Develops and maintains a rapport with the appropriate business and educational communities
  • Promotes new business by identifying specific target groups within the field of membership
  • Ensures personal contact is made with members and prospective members, as necessary
  • Continuously monitors outside vendors and adapts materials to fit the needs of EECU members, school districts, classrooms, and potential members
  • Develops relationships with community representatives and organizations
  • Provides support and assistance to branch management with school event participation
  • Researches school locations within a specified area of influence and develops a calendar of visitations to various school sites and affiliated locations

Requirements

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the public, managers, and employees
  • Bachelor’s Degree or five years of experience in financial institution sales, public relations-related activities, or teaching
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with others

Location

This position is primarily based in San Luis Obispo and requires regular travel throughout the Central Coast Territory, including Monterey County and Santa Barbara County. Candidates must reliably report to the San Luis Obispo worksite and travel throughout the assigned territory as required.
