Community Relations Consultant - Southwest Ohio Region
About the role
The Community Relations Consultant is responsible for supporting the planning and implementation of corporate generated community relations activities or managing community relations activities for a state plan. This role involves engaging members to mitigate disenrollment, resolve complex member issues, and assist in accessing correct care; creating opportunities with events and presentations to reach and educate the community on company programs; establishing and maintaining relationships with community leaders, organizations, and churches; conducting community based new member intake and orientation; measuring and tracking results through score carding and identifying root causes that will enable retention targets to be met within specific regions within the state; tracking outreach activities, including referrals, partnerships, and event attendance; gathering feedback from community members and partners to continually improve outreach strategies and program delivery; creating marketing materials to support members and community education of benefits; delivering presentations, attending meetings, and distributing educational materials to members and non-members; meeting and presenting to county and community officials; developing and managing regional budgets; organizing and leading member and community feedback meetings across all regions, quarterly.
Responsibilities
- Engages members to mitigate disenrollment, resolve complex member issues, and assist in accessing correct care.
- Create opportunities with events and presentations to reach and educate the community on company programs.
- Establish and maintain relationships with community leaders, organizations, and churches and act as a resource for organizations interested in company programs.
- Establish and maintain relationships and execute growth and retention strategies with providers within assigned territories.
- Conduct community based new member intake and orientation.
- Measure and track results through score carding and identify root causes that will enable assigned retention targets to be met within specific regions within the state.
- Track outreach activities, including referrals, partnerships, and event attendance, and report on progress toward outreach goals.
- Gather feedback from community members and partners to continually improve outreach strategies and program delivery.
- Create marketing materials to support members and community education of benefits.
- Deliver presentations, attend meetings, and distribute educational materials to members and non-members.
- Meet and present to county and community officials.
- Develop and manage regional budgets.
- Organize and lead member and community feedback meetings across all regions, quarterly.
Requirements
- Requires a BA/BS in communications or a related field; 3 years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences
- Health care field experience preferred.
- Bilingual skills preferred.
- Management experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse populations and build strong relationships with community leaders preferred.
- Experience in community outreach and engagement preferred.
- Strong organizational and project management skills preferred.
- Experience and ability to use all Microsoft Office products, including Excel (intermediate level), Outlook, Word, and SharePoint preferred.

Schedule
This role will require flexibility on working and participating in events in non-standard traditional hours and/or weekends.
