About the Role
The Community Relations Associate supports the planning and execution of community events and outreach initiatives that connect the Club with the local community. This role assists with donation fulfillment, player and mascot appearances, community programming, and event coordination while collaborating closely with the Marketing team to amplify the Club's community impact. This role offers hands-on experience in professional sports community relations and provides meaningful exposure to nonprofit engagement, event operations, and brand representation.
Responsibilities
- Support the fulfillment and response process for donation requests, strengthening community relationships and outreach efforts.
- Assist in the development and execution of community programs that foster meaningful connections between the Club, players, staff, and local partners.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to support coverage and storytelling for community events and initiatives.
- Attend and support both stadium-based and off-site community events, representing Real Salt Lake and Utah Royals FC with professionalism and enthusiasm.
- Assist with coordinating monthly autograph sessions, ensuring organized and positive experiences for fans.
- Support the coordination of players, staff, and mascot appearances at community events.
- Provide general administrative and event support to the Community Relations team.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of community engagement efforts.
Qualifications
- Experience or academic background in sports, community relations, marketing, communications, or event management.
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends to accommodate the team's schedules.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships across departments.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and remain flexible in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude, collaborative mindset, and a strong sense of initiative.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and game days as required.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Ability to work in a variety of environments, including office settings, stadium venues, outdoor locations, and community-based sites.
- Regular standing, walking, bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to regularly lift and move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift or move 20 pounds or more.
- May be exposed to varying environmental and weather conditions.
- Must be able to support event-related activities, including evenings, weekends, and game-day operations.
