Community Pharmacist - WellSpan Pharmacy - Adams Health Center

Responsibilities

• Compounds pharmaceutical preparations and/or labels and packages medications and pharmaceuticals.
• Assists with and/or supervises IV preparation and/or delivery.
• Advises patients and medical/nursing staff on use of various medications including dosage, side effects, composition, drug-to-drug interactions, drug-to-allergy interactions and drug-to-food interactions.
• Maintains proper controls and records of narcotics and other controlled substances as required by state and federal law.
• Monitors drug therapy to identify, prevent or resolve actual or potential drug therapy problems. Addresses problems with physicians and/or nurses when indicated.
• Provides clinical pharmacy services as needed.
• Administers immunizations, reviews patient profiles for immunization qualification and makes that recommendation to the patient.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy.
• Work Experience: Less than 1 year relevant experience.
• Licenses: Licensed Registered Pharmacist upon hire.
• Authorization to Administer Injectables for Pharmacist upon hire.
• Prior to employment, completion of Basic Life Support and Authorization to Administer Injectables for Pharmacist are required.
