About the role

Founded in 1921, Straub Benioff Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. With over 200 physicians who are leaders in their fields, Straub provides its patients with diagnoses and treatments for more than 32 different medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, vascular and urology. Straub is home to the Pacific Region’s only multidisciplinary burn treatment center. The hospital consistently brings new technologies and innovative medical practices to Hawai'i, such as minimally invasive cardiac surgery and total joint replacement.

Responsibilities

  • Specialize in the diagnosis, management and nonsurgical treatment of unusual or serious diseases.
  • Have a lengthy clinical and scientific training in their areas of medical interest and special expertise in management of patients with complex, interacting medical conditions.
  • Provide immunization, preventive care and patient education through a long-term personal relationship with their patients.
  • Coordinate the efforts of other medical and surgical specialists as needed to assure patients' best possible health.
  • Engage, support, advocate, and educate community members in overall health and wellness.
  • Serve as a liaison between health and social services in the community to facilitate access and improve health outcomes by increasing health knowledge and self-sufficiency through a range of activities such as short-term care coordination and connection to resources.
  • Work in both clinical and community-based settings, including clients' homes.

Requirements

  • High School or equivalent.
  • Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card.
  • Current driver’s license and valid Hawai‘i auto insurance with short notice access to an automobile to conduct site visits, as required.
  • One (1) year of experience in customer service or related field.

Rate of pay for selected candidates will be determined by various factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, relevant experience and training, as well as internal peer equity.
