The Community Outreach Specialist I represents Carilion in outreach activities coordinated with community partners and other departments of Carilion Clinic. Provides evidence-based health education in a variety of community settings served by Carilion Clinic. Collaborates with other health care professionals to provide evidence-based guidance to members of the community in support of health promotion and illness/injury prevention.

What We Require

• Education: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.
• Experience: 1 years of professional experience required.
• Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Valid Virginia Driver's License.
• Other Minimum Qualifications: Must be service-oriented and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Requires the ability to educate clients of any age or SES level on health issues; demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide educational components, knowledge of principles of growth and life span development, assesses specific participant information to identify risk factors. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications highly desirable. Must be capable of working independently with minimal supervision and possess decision-making skills based on expertise and judgement.

Compensation

Compensation Range: $21.61 - $30.25
