The Office of Senator Adam Schiff is seeking a Community Outreach Representative. Based in the Fresno office, and under the direction of the Regional Director, the Community Outreach Representative will assist with in-office administrative tasks and community outreach projects, as well as support the office’s casework operation under the direction of the Constituent Services Director. PRIMARY DUTIES:Assist with caseworkSupervise student internsAssist with community engagement –including attending events with the Senator, staff or independentlyAnswer telephonesGreet visitors to the officeAssist with appointments/schedulingAnswer constituent requests for general information and other inquiriesAssist with office administrative tasks, including letter writing NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS:The ability to handle difficult situations with courtesy, tact and compassionStrong writing and verbal communication skillsInterest in issues specific to the regionProblem solving abilitiesThe ability to exercise a high degree of initiativeThe ability to work independently and use good judgmentThe ability to maintain confidentialityKnowledge of personal computersMulti-language skills a plus This is a full-time in-person position based in the Fresno, CA office.
