About the role
Greystar is a leading real estate platform offering property management, investment management, development, and construction services in institutional-quality rental housing. The Community Manager will be responsible for various tasks including budget development, rent collection, vendor approval, lease enforcement, and resident satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Develops and analyzes financial statements to set rent rates and manage budgets.
- Ensures timely rent and fee collection, financial reporting, and vendor payments.
- Manages petty cash, approves invoices, and ensures compliance with insurance certificates and chart of account codes.
- Oversees lease enforcement, resident relations, and property inspections.
- Maintains relationships with academic institutions and ensures compliance with regulations.
- Analyzes market trends and implements leasing strategies.
- Responds to resident complaints and maintains maintenance team performance.
- For California positions, utilizes the California-specific Lease File Checklist.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4-6 years of relevant experience in residence life and/or property management.
- Knowledge of equity and inclusion issues impacting higher education.
- Problem-solving skills for managing residential challenges.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated with leadership and team collaboration abilities.
- Proficiency in internet, word processing, spreadsheet, and database management.
- Experience with property management software and strong management skills.
Specialized Skills
- Proficiency in internet, word processing, spreadsheet, and database management.
- Strong proficiency in property management software (Yardi, OneSite, Entrata, etc.).
- Ability to navigate THD (The Housing Director), PeopleSoft, MaxPanda or their equivalents.
- Management and supervisory skills to hire, lead, and manage employees.
- Experience building collaborative partnerships with faculty, administrators, students, and campus partners.
Travel/Physical Demands
- Frequent exposure to outside elements, temperatures, weather, odors, and landscapes.
- Routine, local travel may be required.
- Rare or occasional travel may be required for business meetings, training programs, or other situations.
Pay
The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000 a year. Additional compensation includes a quarterly or annual bonus program, paid time off, and robust benefits such as medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance; paid parental leave; and 401(k) with Company Match.
